Makeup artist step by step in makeup application

Steps in makeup application? How to start application? Can i skip this or that step? These are questions that i have been asked a lot. so let's talk about that.

To be honest some products realy doesn't metter when do you apply them, till some steps are important to apply in order.

Here are steps that I have find most useful and provide to my clients and myself long lasting and flawless makeup all day long. Frist and always start with skin care. Even if you applied in the Mornig or few hours before starting your makeup. even in those few hours skin will produce oil or get more dry depending on skin type, than dust and polution from air layering on skin as well, why not start fresh. Let's wipe face with cotton rounds and cleanser ( micellar water). After it follow up with :

  • exfloating pads - no they do not realy made peeling skin, just gentle exfloate deadh cells.

  • toner

  • eye serum

  • face serum

  • face oil

  • eye cream

  • moisturizer (it shouldun't be skipped)

  • lip exfloator (can be used before you start with skin preparation)

  • lip balm

  • spf - ligt that is ok for under makeup

I need to mention that most important thing when it comes to skin care is that you choose products for your skin type. Pay attention when you buying it what skin type they are for and always try some trial size so you can see how your skin react on it. You cant see does product work for you after just one use, give at least 7 days. Be cearful with allergies as well.

Beside that amount of product applied is also very important, to much can cause creasing makeup.

After skin preparation it is good to start with eyebrows. That way your skin have time to absorbe skin care products. Than definding brows giving you little guide for facial lines, once eyebrows and eyeshadow is done it's easier to do face contour and highlights.

  • Eyebrows (powder, pancil,gel )

  • Eyeshadow

  • Eyeliner

  • Curl Eyelashes

  • Eyelash primer

  • Mascara

  • Fake lashes

Lower lash line eyeshadow application finish at the end, after face makeup application.

Before we start with face makeup application i would use clean cotton pad or blotting paper and tap over face to absorb exces of skin care products. Clean part undereyes wher shadow fall off. Now let's start application:

  • Primer (very imortant to use one that is for your skin concern, apply small amount and wait minute or two so skin absorb it)

  • Corrector ( green correct redness; pink, peach and orange for dark cirkles and any dark spots; purple neutralize yellow and to brighten dull skin; yellow brightens purple undertones, age, veins and sunspots.)

  • Foundation

  • Corrector (sometimes i like to apply it after contour and sett it rigt true to prevent creasing )

  • Cream products - making better base for powder, makeup lasting longer.

There is no rules how you going to apply creams, as i said i do like do this step before corrector. will you go first with cream countour or blush or highlighter it is up to you. Just pay attention where do you apply product. Layer them properly is key. Highlighter: Blush and contour from eye to cheek )

for glowy look you can apply crem blush over powder , it's little tricky but looks amaizing

Once you are done with cream products it's very important to set it before you start with powders.

  • Setting powder use to sett under eyes, noce , forhead between lips and nose, chin - all places where you getting oily over ( T-zone ) If you are dry skin type i will set only undereyes.

  • Presed powder foundation - using large fluffy brush gently apply all over face to set cream produsts and make easier blending for powders.

Now it's time for powders:

  • Bronzer

  • Blush

  • Highlighter

Once again you can apply them way you like blush, bronzer, highlighter or so. important is place where you aplly them on your face.

Finishing your makeup application be like this:

  • Finish your undereye eyeshadow makeup

  • Use setting spray ( spray from distance, use puff to gently press spray into skin-makeup)

  • Lipliner

  • Lipstick

  • Lipgloss

  • Clean with thin q tip around lips to perfect line
